Whilst being awarded the title “Man of the Year”, walking the ramps of well-known brands and designers, appearing in television commercials across India - Tariq’s inner calling has always been supporting, preserving and promoting Kashmiri art.
He has been fascinated with the art since childhood, growing up watching his father and the community around him create exquisite shawls.
Tariq along with his brother Imtiaz Dar, went on to create the brand “Pashmkaar – Kashmir” to revive the dying tradition of shawl making, support the artisans, empower the community, and ensure the authentic Cashmere scarfs remains a coveted possession.
